A Challenge Shared: IUA's Story

The IUA is the representative body for companies in London, providing international and wholesale insurance and reinsurance coverage. They are at the forefront of market modernization initiatives, promoting the design and implementation of modern processes and electronic interfaces using ACORD data standards. From placing to claims and accounting and settlement, the IUA’s mission is to secure an optimal trading environment for London insurance companies. 

 In 2007, the IUA, in conjunction with other participants in London’s vibrant insurance market, had commenced a significant transformation of the systems and processes running their business. They wanted independent assurance of several activities proposed by their suppliers.  

The IUA and other stakeholders ran a competitive procurement for independent assurance. Following due diligence and a discussion to understand its style of working with other clients, they chose Credera.  

 Our initial engagements were short studies around particular pieces of work – for example, whether the supplier-recommended storage upgrade made sense strategically and was cost-effective, and service reviews of underperforming live services. Eventually, this grew to full-time program assurance on major market programs around claims settlement and data centre exits.
