Forrester Landscape report methodology
The Forrester Landscape reports educate clients by “defining current-state market maturity, detailing the top market dynamics and use cases, and providing a list of vendors or providers that they might prioritize based on size, focus, and geography.”
Forrester first conducts preliminary research to identify the relevant providers in a service category, and to define the business scenarios and key capabilities that the providers must address.Forrester then distributes a questionnaire for the providers to report data related to their services. Upon reviewing all data received, Forrester determines the overall market maturity (emerging, established, or mature), market dynamics, and vendor-focused graphics for the full report.
Providers are categorized as “large” based on annual service revenue greater than $5 billion, “medium” with revenue between $1 billion and $5 billion, and “small” with revenue between $100 million and $1 billion. Within each size category, service providers are listed with their geographic focus, industry focus, and business type (e.g., consultancy, agency, or systems integrator). The digital transformation services landscape
Forrester’s Digital Transformation Services Landscape report for the third quarter of 2023 shares the following market maturity analysis, current dynamics, notable service providers, and recommendations for how to work with them.
Market maturity: Forrester describes digital transformation as a “complex endeavor that requires enterprises to rethink their business models, change their organizational structures and practices, become more data-driven, and embrace a culture of continuous change.” [SB(1] Due to this complexity, digital transformation service providers are chosen to navigate the changes, use modern technology to unlock new sources of value, and accelerate improved business results. This service market is considered “established.”
Market dynamics: The digital transformation services market continues to expand “as the pace of change accelerates and the cost of inaction increases for enterprise clients.” Forrester reports that clients identified as important “a service provider’s ability to handle both strategy and execution of digital transformation,” which Credera addresses as our foundational value proposition. Looking ahead, Credera is at the forefront of guiding digital businesses on how to transform to respond to consumers increasingly empowered by generative AI (genAI).
Notable providers: Omnicom’s “type of provider” is listed as a consultancy, which includes Credera’s consulting services. These services and client work span the three regions of North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and Asia-Pacific with a digital transformation industry focus in the consumer products, financial services, and healthcare industries. Credera’s service solutions also address the most frequently listed business scenarios for this market: enterprise transformation, customer experience (CX) transformation, data and analytics transformation, and infrastructure and operational transformation.
How to work with digital transformation providers: The Landscape report suggests that to choose the right digital transformation provider, leaders should “pick providers that can meet you where you are,” “choose providers that are comfortable challenging your thinking,” and “prioritize providers that are outcome-driven, insight-led, and work in increments.”
