Credera Promotes Nickoria Johnson to Partner

Credera, a global, boutique consulting firm focused on strategy, transformation, data, and technology, is pleased to announce the promotion of Nickoria Johnson to Credera’s partner team.

Nickoria has served as Credera’s chief diversity officer since August of 2021 and as a principal in Credera's Management Consulting Practice for two years, leading the firm's go-to-market strategy for program leadership and change leadership. She is a seasoned technology leader for over 25 years, with global experience leading large-scale IT strategic transformation efforts, modernizing portfolio management and IT governance processes, defining and implementing change management initiatives, and establishing deep partnerships across business teams and vendor partners. 

As chief diversity officer, Nickoria is responsible for accelerating the mission of amplifying voices of underrepresented groups and synergizing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts toward unified goals to ensure accessibility, focus, and visibility of diversity equity, and inclusion (DE&I) for the firm.

Outside of the office, Nickoria is a passionate advocate for girls in STEM and enjoys mentoring and coaching a student dance team in her spare time.

We sat down with Nickoria to learn more about her journey to becoming a partner at Credera:

Q&A With Nickoria Johnson:

What were you doing prior to joining Credera? 

Prior to joining Credera, I served in senior technology leadership roles, overseeing global teams leading digital and cloud transformation efforts, optimizing multimillion-dollar technology portfolios, and defining and implementing change management initiatives. Early in my career, I spent time as a developer and system administrator along with time as a consultant.

What led to your decision to join? 

I had been a Credera client for over 13 years across three Fortune 500 companies. Through those experiences, I had the chance to partner with amazing people and forge lasting relationships. Because I was a long-standing client, I was able to see from the outside looking in how each individual at Credera lived out the company’s core values of integrity, tenacity, humility, excellence, and people-first. When my lifestyle allowed for me to consider getting back into consulting, Credera was the only firm I wanted to pursue. 

How would you describe your approach to leadership? 

I strive to be an inclusive and supportive leader who seeks to deeply understand the needs of team members and clients. I’m most proud of their success. Servant leadership is at the heart of how I lead, and I am always looking for ways to serve and pour into others. I pride myself on being a great listener and am a people connector who loves to create synergy in all places and spaces.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far? 

The most important lesson I have learned across my career is how to extend grace to others and grace to myself. Nobody is perfect, including me, and some days we are all just trying to show up and be our best. Will everything be perfect all the time? No. Will every situation be easy? No. Will everyone agree with you all the time? No. Understanding how to be patient and kind in hard moments can change the trajectory of the outcome, for yourself, your clients, and your team members.

What are you most excited about now that you’re a part of the Credera partner team? 

I have been at Credera for almost three years and what I am most excited about is having a seat at the partner table to be able to better influence direction and outcomes and to help shape the firm’s future. We are growing quickly, so being a part of how we grow, evolve our brand, and continue to retain our unique culture is going to be an amazing journey—one I am excited to be on with this team!
