Credera worked with the Omnicom Group, a global leader in marketing communications, to identify strategic areas of focus and mission critical capabilities essential for establishing a unified Google Cloud Platform strategy. Omnicom wanted to consolidate over 1,300 projects under a single organization. In addition to consolidation, Credera provided guidance on operational policies to support the future creation of new Google resources. Overall, the project resulted in reduced risk, simplified billing, and improved global multi-agency support for GCP.
The Challenge
Uniting projects and organizations across a global network.
Throughout its agency network, Omnicom had over 1,300 projects spread across multiple Google Cloud organizations. Omnicom sought to consolidate these projects and organizations into one single organization, increase overall GCP security, improve cloud governance, and simplify financial visibility and billing. Additionally, Omnicom wanted to establish a GCP center of excellence (CoE) to ensure this migration effort would produce outputs that align with their vision and business objectives.
The Solution
Establishing a unified model across organizations.
Credera provided guidance and direction on the overall enterprise design and provided thought leadership on how to consolidate Omnicom’s multiple GCP organizations and Google workspaces. The goal was to help Omnicom establish a unified model across organizations while maintaining a user-centric approach. Credera reduced risk and helped set up Omnicom’s GCP CoE to enforce cloud governance standards and best practices while also minimizing the probability of rework.
The Results
Simplifying governing and operating models to promote cross-agency consolidation
Omnicom consolidated over 1,300 GCP projects from four GCP organizations into one, resulting in a simplified governance model and CoE operating model.
