LIFE AT CREDERA | ERG
OPEN Pride Credera
At OPEN Pride Credera (OPC), we envision a workplace where it is unremarkable to be out at work–one where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer+ (LGBTQ+) members are visible and dialogue about topics important to our community is common.
Through educational programming focused on allyship and intersectionality, and by increasing dialogue to promote a culture of inclusion, connectedness, and continued learning, we will build a community that values authenticity, empathy, and respect.
Our Approach
OPC’s commitment to serving our employees.
OPC was developed to fuel the personal growth, organizational inclusion, and business success of Credera’s LGBTQ+ employees and allies. Our mission is to create an unquestionably stable foundation of support for our queer employees, focusing on recruiting, advocacy, retention, and community.
Recruiting
Proactively seek out and retain a workforce rich in diversity that aims to promote a culture supportive of positive relationships and a growth mindset.
Advocacy
Be the voice that acknowledges and helps overcome the challenges affecting the LGBTQ+ professional community and its allies.
Retention
Create an environment that makes space for identity and inclusion so employees feel they can always bring their full selves to work and realize their full potential.
Community
Encourage employees to be passionate about philanthropy, outreach, volunteering, and hands-on involvement in the LGBTQ+ community.
OPC EVENTS
What's happening within OPC?
OPC events are built for members of the LGBTQ+ community, our allies, and the entire firm. They include internally focused events, community service opportunities, and other initiatives focused on our four pillars of recruiting, advocacy, retention, and community. Events have included virtual and in-person socials, fundraising to support local LGBTQ+ causes, movie screenings, and leadership panel discussions.
At Credera, we are proud to celebrate our community during Pride Month while embracing the theme “Queer All Year.” Pride Month offers Credera the chance to come together, reflect on our history, and acknowledge and galvanize support for the work that lies ahead.
OUR PARTNERSHIPS
OPC’s impact on the community.
In addition to supporting STEM-related programming, OPC has helped foster inclusivity in the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout the year, we have worked with The Center on Colfax’s program Rainbow Alley. Rainbow Alley is a safe, affirming environment for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. OPC has supported several of their events, including a Binary Coding Bracelet workshop and their Summer Academy’s Drone Workshop.
In the UK, we have been a key sponsor and speaker at events like Trans in the City, run multiple internal events with external speakers, and even celebrated our diversity lead, Kim Warren, winning a British LGBT Award for their work and commitment under the Business – Future Leader category.
Through a variety of events and resources, OPC advocates for and helps Credera team members better understand the LGBTQ+ community. By doing so, we're fostering an environment where each and every one of us can feel confident and safe to show up to work as our authentic selves.
